Do you know why we do Slime Time at Family Experience?
Besides the fact that it’s a lot of fun to see our friends get slimed, and I’m pretty sure the people doing the sliming have just as much fun, it’s actually a reminder about life as a family. It’s to remind us that our lives can be messy!
But after we’ve had our fun with Slime Time the kids have to get cleaned up and our hard-working FX team members have to scoop up all that yucky slime and get rid of it.
God sent someone to help us with our life messes too – Jesus!
Parenting, kids, families - ALL are messy, just like that slime. But the kids who get covered in the slime at FX don’t have to live like that forever and we don’t have to lead slime-covered lives either!
Jesus helps us clean up the slime in our lives. A lot of times our relationships can be messy. FORGIVENESS helps us get the slime out of our hearts. It’s not saying it’s okay, but we are letting go of that right to get even.
By letting go we are not agreeing with what’s happening. We are not saying it’s okay. And we are not saying we will be best friends with the person who has hurt us. But we are making the choice for ourselves to let go of those yucky, slimy feelings that can fester in our hearts.
What is one choice you can make today that will lead you towards FORGIVENESS?
FORGIVENESS takes commitment and time...just like those flower seeds we handed out at FX. It’s a daily thing, a constant thing and at the end, you may have a set of beautiful relationships and flowers.
