Don't Pack Away Christmas Just Yet

So, 2018 is upon us. This week my family has gotten rid of all the last remnants of Christmas - all the extra trash from gifts and family are gone, the tree is down and all the decorations are back in their boxes. It seems natural to share some sort of new year...new you...new family. But I want to hang on to Christmas for one more week.

In December, FX talked about family traditions, simplifying your holidays, making time for Jesus, and letting our kids' excitement spur us toward excitement over Jesus' birth. This week I want you to reflect on what that looked like for your family. Here are a couple questions to spur your thoughts:

  1. How did you simplify your Christmas this year?
  2. What new or favorite tradition did your family participate in this year?
  3. How did God use your kiddos this holiday season to draw you closer to Him or remind you of the joy of His coming?

God didn't do anything profound in our family this Christmas, but that doesn't mean it's not worth remembering. God is building upon those little extra minutes my family had to connect and those small conversations over cocoa. God is drawing us closer to Himself in everything we do. As you put away the tree and the ribbons, make sure to keep out what God did this holiday season.

The FX team would love to hear what happened this month in your home. Share with us #ncbcFX or tell us directly FXteam@ncbc.church

Can't wait to see you next week for the first FX of 2018!
