God's Perfect Timing

We have an incredible opportunity in front of us.

In our current sermon series called Activated, we've been studying the book of Acts and learning about how Paul helped to bring the Gospel to the nations and encourage churches throughout the ancient world. It just so happens that we have 14 Global Partners who all will be joining us for Mission Weekend -- God's perfect timing is so sweet!

God is moving around the world and He has arranged every detail of this weekend, just so we can get a glimpse of what He is doing.

For those of you in the New Covenant family who have attended an Outreach Weekend (as they were formerly called) or a Missions Weekend in the past, you know that it can sometimes be challenging to arrange global travel and line up schedules across a group of people.

As of right now, we have 15 Global Partners coming. Fifteen! In the midst of Covid-19 and travel bans and a patchwork of rules and regulations around the world, God has arranged for 15 of our global partners to travel to Cedar Rapids, Iowa on the same weekend. This is nothing short of crazy, in the best way possible!

Our partners are coming from all points of the globe, near and far: Asia, U.S. college campuses, the Middle East, Europe, refugee areas, and Africa. These Global Partners have a front-row seat to what God is doing around the world and they are excited to share their stories of how they have seen God advancing the Gospel. This is a weekend of celebration.

Missions Weekend Schedule
We're starting the weekend off Friday night, June 25, where we'll have the opportunity to share a meal with our Global Partners. After dinner, the partners plan to share stories of what God is doing and explain more about what their ministries look like. Throughout the day on Saturday, June 26, some of New Covenant's small groups will host small gatherings with Global Partners to better connect with them in smaller, more casual settings.

Then on Sunday, June 27, you'll have an opportunity to talk with some of the partners on Main Street throughout the morning, while others will share in break-out sessions in NCBC classrooms. We'll also have Rick Griffith preaching at both the 9:00 AM and 10:30 AM services that day. Rick and his wife Susan have been in the mission field in Singapore for 30 years teaching at a Bible college for international leaders in Southeast Asia. The Griffiths are transitioning to the Middle East soon, where they will teach seminary.

In my role on New Covenant's Missions Committee, I've been so blessed to have heard just a sampling of stories from our Global Partners already. What I know for sure is that God has been doing incredible things around the globe, and He's inviting us to join in His mission.

You don't want to miss this!
