2:8 Marriage

Marriage is a little like being in a canoe.

Sometimes you’re both working together and having fun. Sometimes, one of you doesn’t even want to be in the boat. Sometimes marriage can feel a little lonely. And sometimes you just feel like you need a rest. In some marriages, one person is doing all the work. And sometimes things get really rough. Sometimes marriage seems like other people are blasting past you and having fun, while you’re just stuck. Marriage can feel like paddling upstream, and it can get really bleak. 

But Paul wrote this encouragement in 1 Thessalonians 2:8: “So we cared for you. Because we loved you so much…”  

What would happen if we intentionally applied the 2:8 values to marriage?

When we work these values into our marriage, God produces lives that are full of joy, growth, fulfillment, and honor.
