Our Calling

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” 2 Corinthians 5:17-21

Our Challenge

  • The Cedar Rapids area is among the least Bible-minded cities in the U.S.
  • Christianity is declining with each generation
  • We  have a growing need for Christian leaders in our church and community

Our 5-Year Vision

By 2030, New Covenant will be a church where believers become leaders who engage people in our area with 230,000 gospel conversations, acts of service, or personal invitations.

Kingdom Impact

This vision will have profound kingdom impact through the growth of believers in our church and through the spread of the gospel in our local area.

  • Acts of Service = Meeting genuine needs, expressing care through tangible aid, provision for needs, support for the hurting.
People will experience God's love and see His compassion. We will create a culture of genuine care and connection among neighbors as practical needs are met through countless meaningful gestures of faith in action.
  • Personal Invitations = intentionally approaching someone with an invitation to join us in practicing a spiritual discipline or participating in an event or ministry that will point them to Jesus.
We will intentionally ask people to take steps toward Jesus with us (i.e. pray with us, read Scripture with us, give to kingdom causes with us). Additionally we'll invite people to join our NCBC community and find life-giving community. This will result in increased leadership opportunities within the church as more people attend and more ministries are needed.
  • Gospel Conversations = any discussion where we can point people to consider looking to Jesus
As we encourage people to seek Him, we will spread the hope of the gospel to all generations in our area and have increased opportunities to walk alongside people who do not yet know the Lord. We believe God will provide these divine opportunities that will both shape us as believers and plant seeds that will bear fruit in others.

As NCBC believers step out to reach others in their spheres of influence, they will become leaders who help others find and follow Jesus. The result will be an increase in faith both among those in our congregation and within every generation in our area.

Get Involved

START TODAY:

  1. Commit: Complete the commitment card and return to the church in New Cov Central
  2. Pray: Join us in praying for the people in our area to be receptive to our efforts to serve them, share with them and invite them to join us.
  3. Make a list: Ask God to help you identify people in your neighborhood or sphere of influence that He wants you to have a gospel conversation with, serve or invite.

TRACK YOUR STEPS:

Download the NCBC app on your mobile device and track each time you take an action based on your commitment to invite, share and serve. This is not for us to keep tabs on you, but more for you to stay accountable to the commitment you have made. Additionally, as we track steps taken, we can see how God is working among us as we collectively seek to make Him known in our area and share the good news of Jesus with those around us.
