The Un-Conference for Area Believers

Local Churches Join Together for AbideCR

"Abide in me, as I also abide in you.
No branch can bear fruit by itself;
it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you abide in me.”
-John 15:4

What is it to ‘abide’ in Christ? Is it something that you do regularly?

For the first time, New Covenant is joining together with other churches in the Cedar Rapids area to pursue God – to abide in Him – by hosting a local ‘un-conference for believers,’ called AbideCR on February 11-12.

The AbideCR Conference is a time to learn more about abiding in Him simply by experiencing it.

AbideCR offers a weekend’s worth of scripturally-based teaching, inspiring worship, and the time and space to just rest, to abide with God.
Aaron Williams, artist and songwriter with The Worship Initiative in Dallas, will take the stage at AbideCR. He and fellow Worship Initiative musicians will lead us in worship on both Friday and Saturday nights.

AbideCR is also about the church in Cedar Rapids returning God’s embrace. Worship leaders from across the city have banded together in a worship leader ‘supergroup,’ bringing a local sound to the stage. We’ll also hear from a roster of guest speakers and local Christian leaders, including Aaron Reasland from Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Brandon Levering of Stonebridge, Matt Proctor of Cornerstone, plus Jay Haugh and Andrew Boone from New Covenant.

Alongside the speakers and musicians, a key element of AbideCR is the Abide Room — a contemplative space reserved for soaking in the presence of God. Add in a few interactive break-out sessions, dedicated time to process what God is doing, and on-site catering from trending local restaurants Feedwell Kitchen & Bakery and The Hip-stir, AbideCR is a gathering you won’t want to miss.

Marriott Cedar Rapids has also partnered with AbideCR, offering a great rate on an overnight stay for conference attendees. Reserve your room here.

Peace, Rest, Jesus. AbideCR promises the opportunity to not just learn about God but to abide in His presence, to experience Him and to encounter Him.
