Diligence: Let's Talk About It

For me, finishing what I start is difficult. I could easily make a list of unfinished things in every area of my life. Because of this, I often feel I am unqualified to teach my kids this trait and they will inevitably be lazy bums when they grow up. How great it is to know my kiddos are more than a product of my parenting victories and failures. I can rest in the fact that Jesus is diligent. He has started a work in me and my kids that He will faithfully finish.

I have a super simple way we can practice diligence the rest of this month – talk about it! Will you join me? When you are finishing something you started, say so. When you see your kids finishing something they started, tell them. When you see the fruits of the spirit present in your family, name them and thank God for continuing to be diligent.
