Two New Wells in Zambia

Back in January 2020, our church family gave the Zambia Project $65,000 to dig water wells and help advance the gospel in sub-Saharan Africa. In May 2020, six new wells were installed and the funds continue to be used for Bible translation, church planting, and growing the local church in Zambia. In June, we received the following update from Brad Sinclair, one of our Zambia Project liaisons. He serves as the head of church planting and village ministry. Brad shares:

--------------

Thanks to your generosity and investment into the remote villages in Western Zambia we have been able to put in two new wells! Right now these wells are pumping fresh, clean, healthy water all day long! I wish you could have seen the expressions of joy and excitement in the village when the well first produced the first clean water they have ever had!

Namusheshe Village
The area around Namusheshe is opening up to the gospel and we are excited about some new church plants in the area. We also feel it is a key area as it sits just below a very large flood plain called the Luena flats which has next to no churches. So it is our hope that through these churches that we will see new church plants and growth into these hard-to-access flood plains.

Namusheshe itself is situated around Mango trees on the edge of a flood plain. Previously they had to walk to a hand-dug hole to scoop water for drinking and bathing. This has led to a lot of past issues especially with the children. Many of which had become seriously ill and malnourished from diarrhea.

But this is in the past now! Thanks to your generosity they now have a well pumping fresh water in the middle of their village.

Kazauli Village:
Kazauli is Silozi (one of the languages of Western Zambia) means “Small Rosewood tree”, it's not surprising then that the village is centered now around a very large Rosewood tree after generations of growth. It's exciting that we get to be part of a new history of this village, bringing fresh water and more life to the area.

This area in the past has been a stronghold for a very cult-like church. Just recently many have been turning away from these false teachers and are asking for churches. Thanks to New Covenant we know that the community's eyes will be further opened to life-giving churches and we pray and hope many will come to Christ in this area.

Thank you again and again for being part of this journey with us and making such a difference across Western Zambia! We can't wait to share more stories of lives impacted through the gospel and your partnership!
