Summer Vision 2020

I have a dream for Small Groups this summer!

Our Small Groups are being known, encouraged, and challenged. They were perfectly positioned for the COVID-19 days of quarantine to continue being the church on mission, pursuing God and others, and practicing His ways. Because of our awesome Small Group Leaders, hundreds of people did NOT fall through the cracks but were loved and cared for. Not only this, but family, neighbors, friends, and co-workers were able to experience God’s love through acts of kindness and generosity of our group leaders and members.

With the onset of the quarantine in March 2020, our groups very quickly figured out how to use Zoom and continued meeting. While it’s not the same, it’s definitely a way to continue connecting to one another.

As we head into June, our groups are accustomed to taking the summer off. For the summer of 2020, we all still need a break and we should plan to take one. And even though we are taking a break from regular meetings, we still want to stay connected to one another. The three COVID C’s will continue for the summer: Connect, Care, and Challenge.

  • Connect with one another on a regular basis through texting, phone calls, and maybe even a social distancing visit.
  • Care for one another. Pray for one another. Help meet one another’s needs.
  • Challenge one another to connect and care for others, especially those who are far from God.

While we are living on mission by pursuing and practicing, get outside and enjoy the warm weather and fresh air. Go on a picnic, take a bike ride, and take a nap. Husbands, love your wives. Wives, love your husbands. Watch a movie or binge a podcast or Netflix series. Have fun!

But whatever you are doing, live on mission. Pursue God and others, and practice His ways.
