Taking Navigators to the University of Iowa

Scott & Paige Heemstra, Navigators Ministry

Scott & Paige Heemstra
Navigators Campus Staff since 2014

Over six years ago, Paige and I were invited by New Covenant Bible Church and the Navigators to partner together to pioneer a new ministry among college students at Coe College, Mount Mercy University, and Kirkwood Community College. As young and inexperienced leaders, we saw God’s faithfulness and got to see the Navigator ministry grow from zero students to 100+ students. Over the last six years, we have seen dozens of students come to know the Lord and hundreds of lives transformed.

The Navigators have now asked us to become the Eastern Iowa Area Directors and to move to Iowa City to pioneer another new ministry at the University of Iowa for Fall 2020. In this new role, we will be launching a new Navigator ministry at the University of Iowa and will be overseeing the Navigator ministry in both Iowa City and Cedar Rapids.

As part of our new role, we will continue to stay involved in the Cedar Rapids ministry as we coach, train, and give supervision to the local staff in Cedar Rapids while we are leading on the ground at the University of Iowa.

We are excited about what God will do in the future of the Cedar Rapids ministry and have great anticipation for the launch of the University of Iowa! Will you join us in praying for the transition of the Cedar Rapids ministry and the launching of the University of Iowa?
