Most Difficult Transition

Dr. Rick and Susan Griffith have served for 30 years teaching at the Singapore Bible College for international leaders in Southeast Asia. Rick also helped begin International Community School, a K-12 Christian ministry, and planted Crossroads International church where Rick pastored from 2006-2021. These faithful servants are transitioning to the Middle East soon, where they will teach seminary.

These last few months have been full of transition for Dr. Rick & Susan as they close one chapter of life and open another. Rick says that this is the most difficult transition they’ve faced. He writes:

On June 9, we took a one-way flight from our 30-year home - our beloved Singapore. But before we left, our most vital task was to turn our ministries over to new leaders both at Singapore Bible College and Crossroads International Church.

Leaving Crossroads, which we planted in 2006, proved to be the most difficult transition. These precious believers from 16 nations comprise the most wonderful congregation in our 41 years in full-time ministry.

We had a double commissioning ceremony on Sunday, June 6. I appointed Dr. Jim & Jacqui Harmeling as God's choice servants to lead the church. Pastor Jim asked that I not hand him a baton, but a towel. So, we gave them a towel and a bowl to wash feet going forward, just as Jesus washed the feet of His disciples.

Then we switched seats. Jim's first task as the newly minted pastor was to commission Susan and me as the first Crossroads missionaries to MENA (Middle East/North Africa). I will begin teaching at Jordan Evangelical Theological Seminary in August.

Mission Weekend this Sunday
We are honored as a church family to be able to spend some time with Rick and Susan during this time of transition – to express our appreciation for their faithful service in Singapore and send them off to their new ministry.

We look forward to Mission Weekend Sunday when Rick will share during both of our morning worship services, 9:00 & 10:30 AM.
